EnvisioNING THE future Agate BaY Waterfront

In 2023, Our citizen-led group was selected by the Citizen’s Institute on Rural Design (CIRD) to develop a community-led design concept for the Agate Bay Waterfront.

In 2024, we were selected by the University of Minnesota’s Empowering Small Minnesota Communities program to create a plan for implementing the CIRD design ideas. We are currently collaborating with UMN Extension NE RSDP program to coordinate these efforts.

Today we are actively working with city and county leaders, local businesses, and community members to envision a path forward to creating a safe, accessible waterfront in downtown Two Harbors. This includes the creation of a Waterfront Task force.
