Lake Co. Soil & Water Awarded MAJOR shoreline design grant

Congrats to our friends at Lake County Soil & Water Conservation District for receiving a National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) grant to develop engineering and design plans for stormwater runoff, erosion and water quality solutions at Agate Bay along Lake Superior.

The grant will provide a 60% design to support efforts to prevent everything from shoreline erosion to creating more fish habits and accessible public spaces.

Their work is a major step forward in keeping the Agate Bay shoreline healthy and safe!

The final designs will be available in the summer of 2025.
